Three of the four semi-finalists are now known for the Winter Fourball members' competition--and if ever there was proof needed that you're never too young or too old to play golf, here it is. Eleven year-old Freddie Gannon has waltzed through, with his Dad Richie, beating last year's Kelso Cup hero Magnus Robinson and WCGC Captain and multiple Champion, Martin Finn. Will Freddie be the youngest-ever winner of the trophy? Or might it be won instead by the oldest-ever winner, Denis Lenihan, 80+ years young, who in tandem with John Harrington saw off the fierce challenge of Andy Ryan and Tony Hands-Heart? They meet each other in the first semi-final.
In the other semi either Dave Stone & Steve Murray or Jane Britton, the lady Vice-Captain, and Andy Franklin, will play Gordon House and his son, Wil House, who virtually single-handedly dragged them into the semis after an enthralling semi-final against Adam Clemo and Jez Warren which went to the 19th (which Wil parred for an unlikely victory.)
